Ground Floor 1 double bedroom with ensuite bathroom (no shower), kitchen/diner, sitting room (with open fire). Stairs to: First Floor – 1 twin room, bathroom (no shower)
A large attractive south facing patio overlooking the lawned garden (only partly fenced) with a splendid outlook over the river meadows beyond. Parking for 2 cars.
A long drive twists its way across meadowland (please mind the ducks and moorhens) fringed with willow trees and silver birch copses before crossing the bridge to reach Primrose Cottage. The main part of the cottage dates back to the 16th century and feet thick walls testify to this ancient heritage. With the cattle living in the current sitting room and living space above this must have been a warm if aromatic place to live. There is now oil fired central heating, two bathrooms and the cattle live on the farm.
The cottage is comfortably presented with a snug sitting room (open fire) overlooking the large, low walled patio (a lovely outlook), a well equipped kitchen with a large round table positioned in the bay window providing a sociable dining area.
Both bedrooms have hanging space and the twin room overlooks the water meadows. Both bathrooms have white suites and (slightly dated) vanity units.
A rare opportunity to stay in a pretty cottage in such an attractive and unusual location. Easy stroll to the village shop, pub and coastal walks using the ‘secret’ shortcut.
Dishwasher • microwave • TV & video • larder fridge freezer • iron and board • books and games • oil fired central heating • garden furniture and BBQ • Washing machine in the boiler room to right hand side of cottage
Sorry, no pets.
PLEASE NOTE: the bridge is only designed for domestic vehicles up to 4x4’s. Under no circumstances are trailers, caravans, boat trailers or any other kind of tow allowed.
